Recess means we take a break and play. It’s important to do that once in a while.

I was at the market getting dinner groceries when I saw a display of these, and had to buy one for the family:

Borg melon

Daughter intoned, “You will be assimilated. Resistance is fruitile.”

Her beau added, “They grew it on a collective.”

(What can I say? We’re a pretty geeky bunch.)

Okay, for starters I spelled it wrong, which is why you couldn’t find it when you definitely googled it. It is not a cuckelope, but a cuculoupe. I submitted a URL for it, not because that URL was the most trusted (there were other articles put out by ABC and other major news orgs, but this particular URL actually show what everyone really wanted–a picture!)

Lisa, “cuckelope”? Cucumbers and melons can’t cross-pollinate; no cukermelons or melocumbers. What’s this silly article you mention?

This is too weird. I was just going to send you that article on the cuckelope. Have you seen it?

Anyway, “Resistance is fruitile” is absolutely hilarious. Thank you for making me smile today!!!
